Coordinator of Greek Life passes away

Georgia State has confirmed that Coordinator of Greek Life, Lucille Ausborn, passed away yesterday afternoon.

Ausborn graduated from Western Carolina University and held two positions at Western Georgia before arriving at Georgia State on April of 2010 where she was responsible for advising Greek organization leaders and members.

“Mrs. Ausborn was a true delight to have at Georgia State,” said Kyle Wallcott, president of the Zeta Mu chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha. “Throughout her two and a half years on campus, she left a lasting impact due to the friendships she created with Greek students and inspiring actions she took to motivate all members of our community to succeed. We cannot thank her enough for how she served and will always remember her for her contagious and smiling personality.”

No details have been released concerning the cause of Ausborn’s death.

A candle light vigil will be held in the Unity Plaza at 6 p.m. tomorrow in memory of Ausborn.

The funeral service for Ausborn will be held Thursday Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Ga.
