WRAStravaganza to be hosted at The Mammal Gallery

HddWRAS 88.5 FM will host WRAStravaganza: A Celebration of 43 Years of Analog Freedom on Saturday, May 24 at The Mammal Gallery.

Hannah Frank the new Promotions Director of Georgia State’s radio station, said the event was created by WRAS alumni in support of the #SaveWRAS movement.

A $10 donation is preferred upon arriving at the event, however the event’s Facebook page also states guests can pay however much they want to fund promotional efforts.

“Donations will go to the alumni,” Frank said. “This money will go to flyers and t-shirts and other promotional efforts.”

Frank said she and other WRAS members reached out to large amounts of local artists to play at the benefit concert.

“The bands all support their radio station. They are all playing to show their support for WRAS,” Frank said.

The doors will open at 7 p.m. and featured bands include: Dog Bite, Wire Method and Of the Vine. King of Pops will also be selling popsicles from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. during the event.

“Tell all of your friends to come out,” Frank said. “To my knowledge this will be the last benefit event before the June 2 change.”

More information about the event can be found on the official event Facebook page.
