The women’s golf team is finally back in action today as they start their spring season.
The team travels to Sorrento, Fla. for the University of Central Florida Challenge that takes place the next three days at the Redtail Golf Club.
Juniors Laura Sanchez, Maria Palacios, and Melissa Siviter will play at the number one, two, and three spots respectively, with freshman Julie Lied in the forth sport and senior Kimmy Graff in the fifth spot.
The Panthers are hoping to bounce back not only from a long hiatus, but a tough outing the last time they competed. This was back in October of 2012 when they placed 15 out of 17 at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate.
Yet, individuals on the team have been working on their game, and have come back as a whole hoping to show their recent improvements and come back competitive.
This weekend’s event consists of 18 total teams including 6 ranked North Carolina and 8 ranked Virginia.
