University Singers perform to raise funds

The Georgia State University Singers are making significant steps toward funding their trip to compete in the Florilège Vocal de Tours choir competition in May.

The University Singers are teaming up with the University of Georgia Hodgson Singers tonight at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church for a concert.

Donations for the competition will be taken at the door to fund the trip.

Georgia State conductor Deanna Joseph has “no doubt” that the chorus will raise the money in time to pay for travel expenses for the group to compete.

The concert tonight will feature works by William Schuman, Orlando di Lasso, Claude Debussy, Alice Parker, Eric Whitacre and Morten Lauridsen.

The church website is advertising the concert as “an experience not to be missed!”

The concert begins tonight at 7pm at 3180 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.
