When Georgia State won the Sun Belt title on Sunday and qualified for its first NCAA championship since 2001, Panthers fans on hand at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans were elated as they celebrated their team’s accomplishment.
Those happy vibes were also felt as players, athletics personnel, fans, students and alumni took to Twitter to express their excitement.
R.J. Hunter, who has not been on Twitter since the start of the season, tweeted this after his team’s win.
Seriously though, there’s rarely moments when you see all the work pay off in an instant. This is that. God Bless pic.twitter.com/IIzWW0oZOU

And if the moment on Sunday could not have been sweeter for Panthers fans, here is what former Georgia State guard Devonta White tweeted.
Georgia Southern, who the Panthers defeated on Sunday, did not even qualify for the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), the secondary tournament for teams that finished just outside of the field of 68 for the NCAA tournament.
When the Panthers lost in 2014 in the Sun Belt final to Louisiana-Lafayette, Georgia State qualified, at the very least, for the NIT by virtue of winning the regular season conference championship. The Panthers were eliminated in the first round of the NIT by Clemson with the final score being 78-66.
