Conference play will commence on Saturday afternoon for Georgia State as they take on the New Mexico State Aggies from the Georgia Dome. This is the first time these two teams have met.
As are the Panthers, New Mexico State started off the season with a win after defeating Cal Poly 28-10. One player Georgia State has to gameplan for is freshman runningback Larry Rose III who is coming off a 150 yard game against Cal Poly.
Where Abilene Christian presented an offense that threw the ball most of the time, the running attack will likely lead the offense for the Aggies. They feel that the Panthers will also present a contrasting style as opposed to their initial game.
“The [Cal Poly] Mustangs mainly presented only a running threat, yet based on what Georgia State did against Abilene Christian, they’re a real threat to throw the ball. So, it will be a challenge,” said Jack Nixon, the Aggies’ radio announcer.
Georgia State quarterback Nick Arbuckle threw for 414 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions against Abilene Christian in his Panthers debut.
The game will air on ESPN3 as well as 1340 the Fan 3 and WRAS 88.5 FM.
