Georgia State does not travel to Charlotte

The Panthers postponed their game last Saturday at Charlotte “out of an abundance of caution,” the school stated in their press release Friday afternoon. However, the school announced Saturday that the results came from human error. The Panthers’ first four games of the season were all scheduled to be on national television. Their opponent for this week, the East Carolina Pirates, canceled their first game of the season against Marshall after an outbreak on the team. All signs point to the Panthers and Pirates still kicking off at noon on Saturday. Athletics Director Charlie Cobb announced the school received word of four positive COVID-19 tests on Friday afternoon.

The Braves win the NL East in dominant fashion

In front of no fans but showered with love, the Atlanta Braves clinched their third consecutive National League East Division crown. With five games left in the season for the franchise, they enter the postseason looking to become World Series champions for the first time since 1995. Behind the brilliant work of Freddie Freeman, Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcel Ozuna and Ozzie Albies at the plate, this team could finally get a breakthrough.

The NBA Finals tip-off tomorrow night

LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers face off against Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat tomorrow night, setting the tone for the 2020 NBA Finals. The Lakers steamrolled, eliminating the Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets. For Miami, they swept the Indiana Pacers in the first round and only needed five games to eliminate the No. 1 overall seeded Milwaukee Bucks. That came after they swept the Indiana Pacers. They earned their spot on Sunday night with a 125-113 game six win over the Boston Celtics.
