It’s a phrase Georgia State basketball fans have been anxiously waiting to hear about University of Kentucky transfer Ryan Harrow: cleared to play.
Harrow transferred to Georgia State last spring to be closer to his father who suffered a stroke before the 2012-2013 season. Harrow’s father resides in College Park, Ga..
Wednesday it was released by the NCAA that Harrow would be able to start immediately for the Panthers in their upcoming basketball season.
“I am really excited for Ryan and his family,” head coach Ron Hunter said according to Georgia State Athletics. “There is no doubt this will be a huge boost for our team as Ryan is an extremely talented player.”
The former Kentucky guard started 24 games with the Wildcats last season averaging 9.9 points per game and 2.8 assists and rebounds per game.
Harrow was redshirted in the 2011-2012 season when Kentucky won the National Championship.
Harrow was born in Marietta, Ga.and is a graduate of Walton High School.
