The Georgia State Men’s Soccer team defeated Howard 4-0 on Halloween, with four different players reaching the score sheet.
Howard offered an early threat but the Panthers saw it out to go for the win.
The Panthers started on the back foot, with Howard creating three chances in the first 12 minutes.
Panthers goalkeeper CJ Cochran made two saves, and the Panthers began to dominate the game with a 21st minute goal.
Amiri Abraham fired a low shot into the net from 25-yards out, beating the Howard goalkeeper.
Ten minutes later, Stephen McGill picked up his fourth goal of the season to double the Panthers’ advantage. A smart cutback from defender Aaron Jones saw McGill score with an easy tap-in.
The first half ended with Georgia State 2-0 up, and with a slight advantage in shots (7-5).
The Panthers picked up in the second half where they had left off, firing home in the 53rd minute. Jake Bingham, with his first career goal, fired a shot into the net after a dangerous ball over the top from defender Bo Stroup.
Ali Elkhalil completed the scoring in the 77th minute with a great strike from the top of the 18-yard box.
Georgia State next match is against Georgia Southern in their regular season-finale. The game is scheduled for Nov. 8. Kickoff starts at 7 p.m.
