David Buchanan pitched for the Panther baseball team in 2010 before being selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the seventh round of the MLB draft. He was recently promoted to the Triple-A affiliate of the Phillies and won his first start as a member of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs Sunday, August 4th.
His opponent that night was Scranton/WilkesBarre RailRiders, a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The 24 year old Buchanan struck out four hitters in his first AAA start, giving up only two runs over seven innings of work, scattering six hits across that time frame.
