The Georgia State men’s golf team finished up the Jones Invitational in 12th place on Tuesday at Valencia Country Club. The Panthers had three players finish in the top 30 overall.
The leading scorer of the three was freshman Alexander Herrmann as he shot 77 in the final round, leaving him at six-over for the tournament. His score was good enough to tie for 27th overall.
Senior Damon Stephenson and Nathan Malowee both shot a 76 in the final round and finished at 7 over-par for the tournament. This tied both for 30th place for the tournament.
Senior Davin White returned in the final round and shot a 76 after missing the second round with an injury.
The overall team victory went the University of Southern California as they achieved a score of 14-under par for the three rounds. Kennesaw State University came in second place at 2-over par placing them 16 strokes behind the winning team.
Zach Seabolt, from Winthrop, took the individual victory in a playoff against USC’s Sean Croker.
The Panthers will be back on the course for the Tiger Invitational, which will be hosted by Auburn University Mar. 9-10. This will be the first of four tournaments for Georgia State in the month of March.
