The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies Career Services Office is hosting a dialogue event titled “Black Women, Their Hair & the Workplace” today from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Speaker’s Auditorium.
The event will focus on how to prepare, develop and present oneself in a competitive job market and present a dialogue on whether African American hair styles affect a job candidate.
“By the end of today, students should learn that it is okay to be an individual and to decide on your own personal brand image and be proud of that image,” said Maggie Tolan, Administrative Services Academic Professional.
Presenters at the event will include professionals from the City of Atlanta, Operation HOPE, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Clark Atlanta University.
