In the 2015 edition of U.S. News, Georgia State’s Robinson College of Business advanced rank in multiple positions.
Robinson’s website states among these advances, three specific programs kept their top rankings including Risk Management (No. 5), Computer Information Systems (No. 8) and Real Estate (No. 11).
In addition to being ranked two spots higher to No. 45 on national rankings, the Bachelor of Business Administration also rose seven spots to No. 28 out of the public universities across the nation, according to Robinson’s website.
Dean Richard D. Phillips of Robinson said while focusing on reinventing the programs the rankings were also expected.
“The ascent of our undergraduate program in the U.S. News rankings coincides with Project Catalyst, our multi-year initiative to reinvent the Robinson B.B.A., which already is benefiting our students,” he said.
An initiative to redesign the Robinson’s B.B.A program also began the week of Sept. 2, according to the college’s personnel.
“Project Catalyst is the name given to the initiative to redesign the Robinson B.B.A. program with input from students, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters from within and outside the college,” personnel said.
Kevin Garreau, senior business administration major, said he has high hopes for the future of his program and university.
“I think it perfectly coincides with Georgia State being ranked No. 6 for up and coming universities,” Garreau said. “It gives graduates with a Robinson degree more prominence with employers.”
Undergraduate business programs accredited by the Associate to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business have their deans and senior faculty surveyed, which determine the rankings, according to U.S. News.
Among these surveys are retention rates, student selectivity and graduation rate performances factored into evaluations, according to U.S. News.
