Panthers FX Traders, a team of students from Georgia State, are a finalist in the 11th annual CME Group Trading Challenge.
The global competition is hosted by Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group Inc. (CME) which is a diverse derivatives marketplace.
The Trading Challenge allows undergraduate and graduate teams to trade CME Group Futures electronically.
The teams of three to five people trade in the CME markets and use a simulator provided by CQG.
“This is the only competition available for students to trade on a real-time professional trading platform where students gather a first-hand understanding of how to trade futures and manage risk,” the CME Group Trading Challenge website states.
The Georgia State team competed against almost 400 other teams from across the world.
They moved on to the Championship Round and as of Feb. 24 the team has moved up to rank 22.
The Championship Round started this past Sunday and will continue until next Friday, March 7.
