Jonathan Grey, a freshman from Kent, England, had three wins and twelve top 25 finishes on route to the most successful freshman season in team history. The team itself had a strong season, averaging a top five finish in the thirteen tournaments they participated in. The team’s best finish was second place three different times, most notably in the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
Grey came agonizing closely to making the NCAA Championship rounds, losing in a playoff at the NCAA Regionals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Grey finished sixth, with a score of +2 for the tournament. Grey was named to the PING Division 1 All-Region team, as well as the Kyle Macy Freshman All-America team.
Sophomore Davin White had a strong year as well, ranking second on the team in both top ten and top twenty five finishes. Davin White averaged a 74.6 per round score, ranking third on the team behind Grey and junior golfer Tyler Gruca.
Men’s golf will resume in the fall.
