The Five Points Marta train station and buses are back up and running this morning after an electrical cable caused an underground explosion Monday night, shutting down transportation and power for nearby businesses.
Several Atlanta police officers were on the scene today directing traffic and clearing the way for Georgia Power employees correcting the problem.
One Georgia Power employee said that the explosion turned out to be a “bad secondary cable,” which is an underground voltage cable that delivers electricity to surrounding businesses.
Some businesses are still without power.
Georgia Power employees expect the problem to be solved by the end of the day today.
