Georgia State’s Dance Ensemble will be hosting an free, open dance class with special guest Rikki McKinney from Gotta Dance Atlanta today in room 260 in the Sports Arena from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
McKinney, also known as “Mr. Personality,” has interchanged in multiple styles of dance and worked with several world famous choreographers and companies, such as Cirque de Soleil, the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and South Jersey Dance Company.
With McKinney’s appearance, the Dance Ensemble hopes to draw more attention and recruit members for the upcoming year.
According to Dejene Marshall, secretary of Dance Ensemble, the group usually focuses on jazz technique and wants to take the opportunity to polish the dancers’ skills with a choreographer with good technique and personality in dance.
The next event will be held on April 12 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. with another Gotta Dance Atlanta guest CiCi Kelly.
