Q. Describe your platform.

A.

My platform:
Increasing sustainability initiatives
Mobilizing student attendance at athletic events
Promoting awareness of academic programs and resources
Advocating for a 24 hour study space
Creating meaningful and lasting traditions
Transforming student services

Q.What do you hope to achieve with the position?

A)

With in the position of Student Life I plan to accomplish many things. One main thing is increasing student co-sponsorships by providing smaller student orgs more money. Another is better organizing the newest student life entity, Organization of the Game, to help create a newest tradition on campus.

Q.Define transparency in student government.

A)

Transparency in SGA this past year has been focused on better publicizing the opportunities we provided to the student body. Transparency included our new literal open door policy. Transparency in SGA meant being readily available to serve the student body as their representatives on fee councils, university senate and more.

Q.What are some big issues students have been facing lately?

A)

The Biggest issue facing the student body is funding. Student organizations need funding, and there isn’t enough money to go around to all of them to effectively meet their needs.

Q.What new initiatives would you try to implement if you received the position?

A)

I don’t believe there needs to be extremely new initiatives added to the position, however I plan to improve upon what is in place and make it better.

Q.What sets you apart from the former position holder?

A)

I have been apart of SGA for 3 years now, and I have seen 2 past VPs in this position. The thing that sets me apart is my thorough understanding of the position. Having served on the committee as a senator my first year and as this year’s current VP of Budget and Finance, I have gotten a better understanding of the money flow to the Student Life position.

Q.What is an interesting fact about yourself?

A)

I am a jack of all trades. I am a true performer. I can dance, act, sing, step, etc. Anything dealing with performing I am very good at.

Q.What have you been involved with on campus and in the community?

A)

  • Peerless Perfexion
  • Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society
  • Black Sophomore Society
  • And the rest are in my signature.

Q.What achievement are you most proud of?

A)

Being awarded the Rising Star award last spring.
