Most people living in Atlanta take the surroundings for granted. We rarely see what exciting things are in front of us. And when outsiders gawk, we shrug our shoulders and keep walking forward. With spring break coming up, most Georgia State students will be packing up their cars and heading out. What they have at home just isn’t worth staying for. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to get away this spring break. Instead they are “forced” to enjoy the city. Here are just a few things to do that will make this spring break at home worth your while.
1. In Our Backyard
There are tons of places right here in downtown Atlanta that we drive past almost every single day. We have either visited them a few times before or have always “ment” to go.
- World of Coca-Cola
- Georgia Aquarium
- Zoo Atlanta
- CNN Center
- High Museum of Art
- Atlanta Botanical Garden
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
2. Landmarks
These are some of the places that are tourist central but we never try to go there ourselves.
- The Varsity
- Martin Luther King ,Jr.
- National Historic Site
- Mary Mac’s Tea Room
- Six Flags Over Georgia.
3. People to See
Atlanta is always bustling. There are rarely times when there isn’t some sort of concert, comedy show or nightlife event to attend. Try to catch these during spring break
- John Melloncamp at the FOX, “I Love Lucy” Live on Stage at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center
- Arms and the Man at Kennesaw State University
- Little Shop of Horrors at OnStage Atlanta
- La Dispute Title Fight at the Masquerade.
We don’t always have to go out of town for spring break. We can find activites in our own backyard.
