The International Society for Krishna Consciousness will be giving away books to help with stress and insecurities, as well as accepting donations from students this week.
Some of the books distributed are “The Nectar of Instruction” and “Bhagavad Gita”.
“The purpose of this organization is to teach people they are not these bodies and that they’re actually a spirit soul,” said Daniel Herrera, a Brahmacari, a celibate member, in the organization.
The organization also practices an ancient tradition called Vaishnavism, a tradition to find and remake human beings into God-conscious beings.
“This has helped me by completely ridding me of any anxieties, stress, insecurities, or fear, or any problems in life that stems from our mind and has allowed me to be very happy and stress free,” Herrera said.
The organization has about 500 temples in the world and has many programs incorporated to help the homeless, such as “Food for Life” program here in Atlanta.
The Atlanta temple has 30 devotees and is located at 1287 South Ponce De Leon Avenue NE Atlanta, 30306.
Any student interested in books can contact the organization at 678-576-1060 or look out for the organization around campus this week.
