America Ferrera comes to Georgia State to talk self-acceptance

This coming Monday on April 1 America Ferrera will be speaking to students on self-acceptance at 3 p.m. at the Student Center Ballroom.

“We feel like this speech topic will benefit not only our students but our faculty and staff as well. We feel like everyone can take back from this,” Patrick MaGee, Distinguished Speaker Series director said.

Ferrera is best known for her role in ”Ugly Betty” and “The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants” and several other roles.

“I thought she would be a really interesting speaker because she does represent a visible diversity and also because of her involvement outside of her acting,” Sarah Wilcox, Student Affairs Advisor said.

Ferrera will be the first Hispanic Latina to speak in the Distinguished Speakers series’  five year history.

Since this event is funded by student activity fees, come out and see what Ferrera has to say about self-acceptance and other related topics.
