Team Panthers FX Traders rank third in CME Group challenge

On March 13, CME Group announced that Georgia State’s Team Panthers FX Traders ranked third in the global CME Group Trading Challenge.

Georgia State’s Team Panthers FX Traders’ overall checkbook balance was  $361,150.00, and winning teams were invited to attend a one-day market education conference held in Chicago.

The team was made up of three students, Sang-Yoon Kim, Kevin Tanujaya, and Pablo Stuardo.

The CME Group Trading Challenge is a four-week long electronic trading competition that takes place in a simulated trading environment on a real-time professional platform provided by CQG and Dow Jones.

“The four-week electronic trading competition provides teams of graduate and undergraduate students the chance to trade a variety of CME Group products across multiple asset classes,” CME Group’s website says.

There were 400 teams, composed of 1,500 students from 31 different countries that participated in the CME Group Trading Challenge.

First place in the competition with to Team Ocean Futures from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. Team Ocean Futures’  total checkbook balance was $404,652.50.

Second Place went to Team Lighthouse of Boston University , with a checkbook balance of $374,535.00.

Four Place Winners were Team Forex Traders from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation. Team Forex’s checkbook balance was $354,770.00.
