Anatolia Café and Hookah Lounge announced this month that they plan to open a second location in Suwanee by sometime this October.
The busy downtown restaurant often frequented by Georgia State students first posted the news on July 2 on their Facebook page, announcing the new location will be at Horizon Village near Movie Tavern in a few months.
A picture of two gold keys followed, garnering more than 100 “likes” and 16 comments.
Manager and co-owner Amir Gungoren says the new location was secured two weeks ago, over two years since the family-owned restaurant first began considering expansion to the north Georgia area.
However, the second location is still waiting on official licensing from the state, which could push back opening day.
“Our goal is Oct. 1,” Gungoren said. “But we are still waiting on a license date, which could be sometime in the middle of October.”
Gonguren said the new place would also be a lot bigger, housing a 40-50 craft wall full of over a hundred craft beers and will feature a large, custom-made bar.
Aside from an extensive beer selection, Anatolia 2 will also be adding pizzas to their menu, including a delivery option.
“We think this concept can work,” Gongugren said. “We offer a full service menu with over 600-700 options and a whole bar.”
Gonguren and his brother, Omer, will manage the new restaurant for the first couple of months after opening.
