Ingredients:
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tablespoons of pure pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- ¼ teaspoon of pumpkin spice, plus a bit extra to sprinkle on top
- ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¼ cup of brewed espresso or dark coffee
- Whipped cream for topping
Steps using a stovetop:
- Heat the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin spice and vanilla extract on the stove on medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Combine the pumpkin spice and milk mixture with the espresso or dark coffee in a mug.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice.

Steps using a microwave:
- The recipe can also be made with a microwave by combining the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin spice and vanilla extract in a microwave-safe bowl and covering it with plastic wrap, leaving a small vent hole.
- Heat until the milk is hot, which should take 1-2 minutes.
- Mix vigorously for 30 seconds to a minute until the mixture is foamy.
- Combine the pumpkin spice and milk mixture with the espresso or dark coffee in a mug.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice.
