Man found hanging in Piedmont Park, case referred to FBI

Just after 5 a.m. on Thursday, Atlanta Police Department (APD) officers found the body of a young black man hanging by a rope on a tree, by the entrance of Piedmont Park. According to AJC, emergency officials said that everything about the scene suggested it was suicide, however, twitter users reacted to the news by demanding more investigation. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed released a statement saying he has referred the case to the FBI, and will continuously receive briefings on the developments of their investigation.

Two men dead after trying to rescue child

Emergency officers fromt the Gary Fire Department responded to calls of dangerous currents on Saturday, at Wells Street Beach in Indiana. Of the five people stuck in the waters, three were friends who were trying to rescue a child from drowning. Two of the men, David Halford and Kyle Reibly, were pronounced dead after reaching the hospital, according to NBC News.

Last major city under ISIS soon to face attack

The United States is scheduled to send 560 more troops to Mosul, the last city under ISIS control. So far, with the help of U.S. airstrikes and Kurdish forces, the Iraqi troops have taken back the cities of Tikrit, Ramadi and Falluja and have now begun launching attacks against the terror group in the villages surrounding Mosul. Ash Carter, the US secretary of defense, told The Guardian, that taking over Mosul is important in the fight against ISIS because of its strategic role and importance.
