Women’s golf tees off its season

The women’s golf team opens the spring portion of its season Sunday at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. The 54-hole event spans from Sunday to Tuesday.

This will be the fifth time the Panthers open their spring season at the UCF Challenge.

Last season, the Panthers finished 17 in the tournament with their best finish coming in 2010 at second place.

The Panther will have a similar lineup returning from the fall including seniors Melissa Siviter, Laura Sanchez and Maria Palacios, but freshman Solene Le Coz will be making her debut.

Georgia State finished the fall season No. 58, according to Golfweek.

The Panthers will head to the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational in Orange Park, Fla on March 14-16.
