Friendship Baptist Church agrees to deal for stadium

The new Falcons stadium saga came to an end on Sunday.

The members of Friendship Baptist Church agreed to sell its building so the new Falcons stadium can be built.

The deal is worth $19.5 million and it will paid by the Atlanta Falcons.

Mount Vernon Baptist Church agreed on Thursday to sell its building for $14.5 million.

The Georgia World Congress Center Authority would pay 6.2 Million and the Falcons would pay 8.3 million for Mount Vernon.

According to WXIX-TV, Lloyd Hawk, chairman of the Friendship Baptist’s board of trustees said the final tally was not released.

Friendship Baptist Church is Atlanta’s oldest African American church.

The church has been around since 1862 and at its current location since 1879.
