Agreement enables Indian students to study at Robinson College of Business

Georgia State’s Robinson College of Business and the Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai, India signed a five year agreement on May 12. This will allow Indian business students to complete their education at Georgia State.

There will be 30 to 45 students who will begin their education at the Great Lakes Institute. They will then transfer to Robinson for the last two semesters of their degree, according to Global Atlanta.

Participating students will be enrolled in a business program for their Masters of Science Degree in Managing Information Technology.

Dean of the Robinson College of Business, Fenwick Huss, said both schools share mutual interests.

“India is an important market for graduate management education and the Great Lakes Institute of Management is one of the strongest schools in the country. This and other partnerships provide access to strong students. They also expand our international reach.” he said.

Huss also said Robinson is planning on extending its reach to Brazil, China and South Africa. Other countries include South Korea and Turkey.

“We will continue to expand our presence internationally in the five emerging markets that are a strategic focus across the university and look for opportunities in other important markets,” he stated.

The Great Lake Institute already has associations with Stuart School of Business in the Illinois Institute of Technology, Yale University and Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, according to the Great Lakes website.

“…To become A Centre of Excellence in fostering managerial leadership and entrepreneurship in the development of human potential through quality research, teaching, residential learning and professional management services,” the insitute’s mission states.
