5 Q’s with Chris Locandro

This week’s installment of 5Q’s takes you onto the Georgia State soccer pitch where The Signal got a chance to catch up with junior Chris Locandro, a neuroscience major from Kennesaw, Ga.

Homecoming

“I wanted to be closer to home.  I was also interested in doing some research because I’m a neuroscience major and the school I was previously at [Colgate] there weren’t really any opportunities for that.”

Expectations

“I think two years ago I played a little better than I did last year, so get back to that.  I was great on offense-consistent- and I really didn’t make many mistakes on defense.”

Toughest players to defend

“The more agile, the better he is with his feet, that can throw me off.  Usually I can handle the size.  The ones that get me are the guys that are tricky with their feet.”

Funniest teammate

“Tyler [Prince].  He isn’t funny himself, he isn’t a comedic person.  But just the way he acts, it’s funny to watch and he’s just a goofball basically.”

Famous encounter

“About five days ago I was eating in Midtown and I ate next to Rampage Jackson [mixed martial artist and actor].   I didn’t say anything to him, but I thought that was really cool.”

First Car

“Audi A4. It was used and it actually had 140,000 miles I think.”

Favorite soccer player

“I would have to go with Messi.  He’s so good with his feet and he reads the game really well.”

More goals please?

“I do. I think I had one shot last season; I don’t even get a chance to go up on corners or anything.  But I think coach is confident with me where I am.”

Pregame Meal

“I would rather eat too much than eat too little.  I usually try to eat pasta before hand, just for the carbs.”

Dream travel destination

“Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  I heard it’s for advanced skiers, which I don’t consider myself that.  But eventually I’ll get there.”
