Women’s tennis title defense falls short

At the Sun Belt women’s tennis tournament in New Orleans, Louisiana, Georgia State women’s tennis’ title defense fell short in the semifinals with a 4-3 loss to the UT-Arlington Mavericks.

The Panthers earned a 4-0 win over the Arkansas State Red Wolves, sending the team to the semifinals against the Mavericks.

UT-Arlington took a 3-1 victory over Georgia State before the Panthers evened the score at three apiece as Chaimaa Roudami and Veronika Golanova earned singles wins. The Mavericks claimed the victory by taking the doubles point.
