Confederate Memorial Carving stirs debate in Georgia

The Confederate Memorial Carving in Stone Mountain, Georgia has become a hot topic in Georgia. This follows Dylann Storm Roof’s murder of black churchgoers in South Carolina and the Atlanta NAACP called for the carving’s removal, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC). Gov. Nathan Deal has been pushed by Atlanta’s city council to consider adding Martin Luther King Jr. to the carving. Deal and state lawmakers have declined to comment on the subject, according to AJC.

Bobbi Kristina Brown dies at 22

Whitney Houston’s only child, Bobbi Kristina Brown, died at 22 years old on Sunday, July 26, while in hospice care, according to the AJC. After being found face down in a bathtub, Brown was sent to North Fulton Hospital on Jan. 31. Since then, she has been transferred to Emory University Hospital, a long-term care facility and hospice care. The cause of why she was face down in a bathtub is still under active investigation. Brown is survived by her father Bobby Brown.

Militants attack a Punjab police station

The three unidentified attackers of a Punjab, India police complex were killed by police on Sunday, July 26, according to The Huffington Post. During that day, three policemen and three citizens were also killed, according to the home ministry. The attackers traveled from Pakistan to India. Junior Minister in Modi’s office Jitendra Singh has not excluded Pakistan’s role in the attacks. Pakistan said they were not involved in the attacks in Punjab, Jammud and Kashmir.
