Transition your winter wardrobe

After the rough winter, it’s understandable to be eager to shed layers and replace them with dresses and short shorts, but it’s not always that simple. With the winter occasionally creeping back into the picture, spring transitional outfits are all about balancing the two seasons. At the core of every great transitional outfit is a piece you probably already own. Sweater Weather

Just because the temperature is rising does not mean it is time to pack up that sweater collection you have carefully curated over the last few months. Transition one of your favorite cream sweaters to the spring by ditching the outerwear and binding denim for a patterned skater skirt. This combination will lighten up the heavy knit of the sweater and provide that flirty carefree vibe that is synonymous with spring fashion.IMG_7455_1

Lighten up your Layers

Layering is necessary for survival in the winter months, but it is also the key to a perfect spring transition outfit. Band tees/graphic tees are a wardrobe essential. In the winter you have to cover these glorious pieces with scarves and chunky outwear but to transition the piece into spring lighten up those layers. Swap your bulky winter coat for a lightweight floral kimono or long cardigan, denim shorts and some ankle booties. This combination will give your tee a pop of color and let those legs get some much needed sun, while still providing warmth for those unpredictable mornings.

Boyfriends never die

Boyfriend jeans are not only insanely comfortable, but they are effortlessly chic and perfect transition pieces. In the winter, you can rock these jeans with a chunky waffle knit sweater and pile on the layers. To transition it to spring, trade in the sweater for a loose fitting t-shirt. The most important part about transitioning boyfriend jeans is the footwear. The options are endless––dress them up with some strappy heels, go for for that casual chic look with some ankle booties or dress them down with some white Converse.

Make a Statement

If you’re looking for cheaper ways to change up your closet, add a spring accessory for a simple, inexpensive outfit revamp. Swap your old black purse for a neon, nude or brightly colored shoulder bag for a subtle pop of color. You can also try some colorful statement necklaces to add the finishing touch to any seasonally questionable outfit.
