Top Georgia football recruit commits to Panthers

Class of 2014  high school football recruit Cam Jackson committed to Georgia State University Wednesday afternoon.

The 165 pound cornerback from Creekside High School in Fairburn, Ga. is the No. 127 ranked total recruit in the state of Georgia and gets a rating of two stars according to 247sports.com.

In April, Jackson was named defensive back MVP at the Atlanta Nike Football training camp.

According to Jackson, he had offers from other colleges such as Marshall and Southern Mississippi as well as others from BCS programs.

Georgia state students and coaches fled to Twitter to express their excitement for Trent Miles’s sixth commitment from the class of 2014.

“The future of Georgia State Football just got better!! Big Time pick Up!! #BuildAFence,” defensive coordinator Jesse Minter tweeted.

“Just picked up one of the best players in this state!!! Its getting real serious around here! PANTHERNATION!!!!” coach Tony Tiller tweeted minutes after the news came out.

Jackson went on his own personal account and tweeted, “this is cam jackson from creekside high school and I just committed to #Georgiastate.”
