Stefanoff wins Sun Belt championship, Panthers finish fifth in team race

Georgia State’s Hannah Stefanoff earned the biggest victory of her collegiate cross country career by winning the individual Sun Belt Conference championship. Stefanoff finished first by posting a career best 16:57.7.

As a team, the Panthers finished fifth out of the eleven teams that participated with 150 points.

Other Georgia State participants included senior Niamh Kearney who placed 30th. Stella Christoforou ended up with a 32nd place finish. Freshmen Jordan Townsley and Nuria Ramirez placed 43rd and 46th, respectively.

 

UT Arlington won the team event with 51 points. The second and third place spots went to Appalachian State and Arkansas State with 60 and 64 points, respectively. Louisiana Lafayette would come in at fourth with 135.

The next event for the Panthers will be on Nov. 14 as they take part in the NCAA South Regionals.
