Road blues: Pride pitching stifles Georgia State bats

Hofstra defeated Georgia State by a final score of 2-1 on Saturday to win their three-game series.

The teams split a doubleheader on Friday.

In the bottom of the fourth, Caryn Bailey doubled to drive home Alyssa Cuzzol, staking Hofstra to a 1-0 lead.

Pride pitcher Olivia Galati would help her own cause in the bottom of the sixth with a RBI double to give the Pride a 2-0 lead.

Galati held Georgia State to only four hits in her complete game victory.

The Panthers scored in the top of the seventh inning on a  Jessica Clifton doubled which scored Callie Alford.

Katie Worley was credited with the loss for Georgia State and now has a record of nine wins and six losses on the season.

Georgia State will play its next game on Tuesday, March 2, at Kennesaw State.

They return home for a two-game set on Wednesday versus Furman.
