Panthers fall to Huskies

Despite their hard work, the lady Panthers came out with a loss.

The Georgia State women’s basketball team was beaten by Northeastern Thursday night by a final score of 68-55.

The Panthers now sport an overall record of 9-6 and are 1-3 in Colonial Athletic Association play.

In the first half,  Northeastern, paced by Kasaia Cannon and Deanna Kerkhof, shot seven out of twelve from three point range as they took a 31-30 halftime lead.

There were points in the second half where it looked like Georgia State would get back in the game, but they eventually fall short.

Leading scorers for Northeastern included Cannon (21), Kerkhof (19), and Jewel Tunstull (14).

Senior CodyPaulk finished with 14 points for the Panthers.  Kayla Nolan and Ashley Watson each contributed in ten points.

The next game for Georgia State will be at home versus James Madison this Sunday at noon.
