New Distinguished University Professors named

Georgia State gave the title of Distinguished University Professors to 12 of its faculty members.

This titles recognizes the professors’ hard work and dedication to their field of study and gives them a five-year appointment to their position beginning on July 1.

Georgia State President Mark Becker and Provost Risa Palm approved the designation of the title after each of the professors’ deans nominated them and after the nominations were reviewed by a committee of Regents professors.

The position was created this year and will put the professors on track to becoming Regents Professors, the highest title given to a professor in the University System of Georgia.
