The in-conference woes continued for Georgia State on Jan. 30, as first place Little Rock defeated the Panthers, 63-53. Senior Kevin Ware led the team with 17 points and freshman Malik Benlevi scored a career high 10 points.

Georgia State began the second half with a run of the team’s own to take a three point lead before going cold and not scoring a single point for six minutes.

“I thought we battled and played well for portions of the game, but when you play a talented team like Little Rock, you have to play great basketball for 40 minutes,” head coach Ron Hunter said, according to Georgia State Communications.

Georgia State is now 5-5 in the Sun Belt, the team has lost four of its last five games and have lost three consecutive games for the first time since 2013.

The team now returns to Atlanta for a weekend home stand, beginning with Texas State on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
