Ivie Drake

Ivie Drake is sophomore softball player who has set multiple records. As the 2015 Sun Belt freshman of the year, Drake grew up in Carlton, Georgia and attended Madison County high school. Drake plans to major in early childhood education.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you?

Drake: Just being young and dressing up with my brothers. I always had so much fun and was always so excited to dress up and get a lot of candy.

  1. What is your most memorable Halloween costume?

Drake: One year I dressed up as a dancer.  

  1. How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Drake: At my elementary school we always had a day where we wore a costume and that day I wore mine but the top didn’t cover all of my stomach so they made me wear a huge fur jacket all day and through the parade… I thought that was funny.

  1. What are some of your Halloween traditions?

Drake: I really don’t have many traditions. I just spend time with my family now that all the kids are grown and we don’t go trick-or-treating anymore.

Nathan Mallonee

Mallonee is a junior golfer from Lexington, Georgia. Mallonee is an exceptional student athlete, and has been named to the Dean’s list for every semester since the fall of 2013. Mallonee is a finance major.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you?

Mallonee: The most memorable thing to me about Halloween is all the candy.

  1. What is your most memorable Halloween costume?

Mallonee: My most memorable Halloween costume was when I was a knight. I had casts on both of my legs so my mom made some “armor” that would cover the casts up.

  1. How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Mallonee: I think I chose my most memorable costume just because I had some knight toys and thought they were cool.

  1. What are some of your Halloween traditions?

Mallonee: My Halloween traditions are finding a good costume and eating a lot of candy.

J.J. Grey

Grey is a senior member of Georgia State’s men’s golf team. Grey has been one of the top players for the Panthers over the last four years after coming to the Panthers from Kent, England. Grey has been named to the All-Sun Belt team his first three seasons at Georgia State and was Sun Belt Conference freshman of the year in 2012. Grey is a psychology major.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you?

Grey: I have always loved getting dressed up and seeing what costumes everyone wears.

  1. What is your most memorable Halloween costume? 

Grey: One year I dressed up as a hot dog.

  1. How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Grey: I didn’t have a choice.

  1. What are some of your Halloween traditions? 

Grey: Getting large groups together for Halloween parties and obviously, trick-or-treating.

Keith Rucker

Rucker is the starting tight end on the Panthers’ football team. Rucker is a Cincinnati, Ohio native. Rucker is a junior that has seen playing time since his freshman season. Rucker has taken over for the injured senior Joel Ruiz in 2015. Rucker is a speech major.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you? / What is your most memorable Halloween costume? 

Rucker: I would say that it goes to really four straight Halloweens. I was a huge power rangers’ fan and completely obsessed with them and so I picked a different color to be of a power ranger every year single year. So, that four year span was definitely my most memorable.

  1. How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Rucker: Even though now that I know that they’re not real, when I was a kid I thought that maybe there was a possibility that I too, myself could be a power ranger and so I mean I just kind of looked up to them and thought they were really awesome and so I wanted to be one.

  1. What are some of your Halloween traditions? 

Rucker: Traditions that I have for Halloween is definitely one that’s always with my family. I grew up in a household of six children. So, our parents would always walk us around the neighborhood. We knew the streets like the back of our hands, we could go to the more wealthy neighborhoods and we could get a whole bunch of big king sized candy bars or we could just go snag a hand full off of a porch.

Emiere Scaife

Scaife is a redshirt freshman quarterback for the Panthers’ football team. Scaife is currently serving as the backup to Nick Arbuckle but could be the heir to the starting quarterback position next season. Scaife is a Charlotte, North Carolina native where he attended Mallard Creek High School. As a computer information systems major, Scaife is enrolled in the honors program and has been named to the fall 2014 Dean’s list.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you?

Scaife: Getting the candy. Of course the candy. But actually a couple years ago I asked my last girlfriend to be my girlfriend, so that’s my last anniversary. It was on Halloween that’s a weird day but, it was cute.

  1. What is your most memorable Halloween costume? 

Scaife: It wouldn’t be mine, but when I first had my little brother, he was little and he had the thing from fantastic four. Just seeing him walk around all swollen and stuff was, I don’t know it just sticks in my mind.

  1. How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Scaife: Honestly he wanted to be like me. I don’t know I guess I’m big to him. I’m not a thing, because that’s pretty ugly. But, yeah he wanted to be swollen up so he got the biggest thing he could find.

  1. What are some of your Halloween traditions?

Scaife: We didn’t really have any traditions. Just the normal things, just going out getting candy, spending time with the friends and family. Just a day off really.

Rashid Alarape

Alarape is a sophomore on the Georgia State men’s soccer team. Alarape was an instant impact player last season for the Panthers after he was named to the first team All-Sun Belt in his freshman season. Alarape has a chance to do the same in 2015. Alarape is a Stone Mountain, Georgia native where he attended Stephenson High School. Alarape is currently undecided on his major.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you?

Alarape: Last year on Halloween, I actually played my older brother on his senior night at Howard. So, even though I had many good Halloweens as a child, having Halloween be soccer related and against my brother was important and memorable.

  1. What is your most memorable Halloween costume? 

Alarape: I was Spiderman one year.

How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Alarape: I think it was about the time the first Spiderman came out. So, there was a lot of hype around Spiderman.

What are some of your Halloween traditions?

Alarape: Can’t really say I have many traditions it’s just, alright well now that we’re older what we about to do?

Corey Plasker

Plasker is a senior midfielder on the Georgia State men’s soccer team. Plasker is a transfer from Penn State. Plasker is originally from Marietta, Georgia where he attended Walton High School.

  1. What is most memorable about Halloween to you?

Plasker: Junior year of high school I bought a kid sized power ranger costume and squeezed myself into that. That was kind of funny.

  1. What is your most memorable Halloween costume? 

Plasker: Senior year of high school I got a penguin costume and I think every single Halloween after I’ve rocked the same costume.

  1. How did you choose your most memorable costume?

Plasker: I just saw it hanging up in the costume section at Party City and all the other costumes were kind of expensive so, I felt like hey let’s just go with the cheap easy penguin.

  1. What are some of your Halloween traditions?

Plasker: Just to act goofy, be funny, have fun with friends.
