Georgia State’s PRSSA Chapter to host regional conference

The Georgia State Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will be hosting a regional conference called A New PRspective on Diversity on April 3 through April 5.

The conference is intended to give students of all majors a new outlook on multicultural diversity in the Public Relations industry in Atlanta. The PRSSA also hopes that after the conference students will learn how diversity within the industry will help them with diverse groups and become better business men and women when it comes to networking, according to the PRspectivegsu’s website.

“Students should attend the PRSSA regional conference because it is a great time to network with professionals, learn from their experiences and make each individual stronger and smarter on how to develop their personal brand,” Dontae Allen, Officer of Georgia State’s PRSSA chapter, said.

The conference will have speakers for the students from companies such as General Motors, Cartoon Network and the Atlanta Hawks, according to Allen.

We have numerous professionals from some of the leading companies in the United States who will be there to educate students about what it takes to succeed in a professional setting, things companies are looking for when they are hiring new candidates and things it will take to get noticed in any profession,” said Allen.

The three-day conference will be held at the Buckhead Center. From now until March 31, students can purchase tickets at $45 for PRSSA members and $55 for non-PRSSA members.

The tickets include breakfast for all three days as well as lunch on Friday.

PRspective’s website suggests that students interested in attending the event dress business professional and bring a notepad, pen, business cards and resumes. To register and receive more information students can go to the PRspective offical website, http://www.prspectivegsu.com.
