Surveillance video catches the moment before the shooting happened

A Georgia State student was shot and killed Monday afternoon in the breezeway of the Ford Factory Lofts on Ponce de Leon Avenue, according to Atlanta police.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed that the victim is Georgia State Student Lee Lowery.

Officers were called to the scene around 5 p.m. Police report that the shopping center was filled with people at the time of the attack. Lowery was found bleeding from a gunshot wound on his upper chest at the Ford Factory Lofts.

Police do not believe the Lowery lived in the Ford Factory Lofts.

When officers arrived, the Lowery was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Atlanta Police Department has released a surveillance video of what appears to be a young man wearing a hat in a breezeway that is approached from behind by a young looking black male wearing a white shirt. The video clip ends as the second man reaches into the other man’s pocket.

No suspects have been identified.
