Georgia State Marching Band performs in 2013 Inauguration Parade

Our marching band’s weeks of preparation are soon to pay off during their performance in the 2013 inaugural parade, broadcasting today.

Marching band members are absolutely pumped about the opportunity to play in the inaugural parade, which was not an easy one to snag. Inauguration officials received more than 2,000 applications from groups vying for the prospect of appearing in such a performance for the leader of our nation. Despite the formality of this once in a lifetime opportunity, the marching band claims that preparing for the inaugural parade was not that different than preparing for other performances.

News coverage of the President’s private swearing in began around 11 a.m. EST on various news networks and the parade will soon follow. The band will perform around 3:30 p.m., an hour into the parade.

The band is expected to deliver a characteristically fantastic performance. Be sure to tune in and support your fellow students in the parade!
