Georgia State colleges get ranked by U.S. News

In a recent ranking done by U.S. news, Georgia State’s colleges and graduate schools were ranked next to other universities in the United States.

Georgia State’s graduate schools made it onto U.S. News’ 2015 Best Grad Schools list.

The College of Education was ranked in the top 100 in the nation at number 55 and the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies ranked number 23 on the list as well.

Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design ranked number 127 for the Fine Arts program.

Undergraduate Student Nathaly Kerba said although she does not particularly care for Georgia State’s undergraduate program, graduate school could be an option.

“I feel like nowadays it’s all about the grad school, so if it’s a good one and Atlanta offers opportunities in my field, I would definitely consider going to grad school here,” Nathaly said.

Graduate Teaching Assistant Christopher Hayter describes his reasoning for picking Georgia State as his school for graduate studies.

“I came to Georgia State University because the English Department offers a PhD in Creative Writing which is only offered at about thirty-five universities nation-wide unlike a PhD in Literature of which there are several hundred colleges to consider,” Hayter said.

Many other Georgia schools ranked highly on U.S. News’ 2015 ‘Best Grad Schools’ list, which was published online on March 11.

Universities within Georgia outranked colleges such as Columbia University’s school of International and Public Affairs and Texas A&M;’s Bush Schools of Government and Public Service.
